Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a uniquely Korean martial art, and is the most-practiced martial art in the world, with an estimated 70 million people in over 150 countries now practicing Taekwondo. As with other martial arts, there are many styles of Taekwondo; the style practiced by Master Moon SMA is principally World Taekwondo style (the same style that is competed in the Olympics) with older, more traditional elements incorporated into our school curriculum as well.

When our students achieve Black Belt, they are awarded “dan certificates” from Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters, located in Seoul, South Korea. Not all Taekwondo schools in the world are qualified to issue these kinds of certificates, but our location is qualified to award these highly-coveted credentials. These credentials ensure that your child’s Black Belt is recognized at any Olympic-style Taekwondo school, anywhere in the world! Years from now, when your child goes off to college or relocates to a new job, they will be able to continue practicing Taekwondo at any Kukkiwon-affiliated school in the world, safe in the knowledge that their years of training at Master Moon SMA will still be recognized by their new school.
